Lakeside

Lakeside, which is a small village in the Lake District, is located towards the southern end of Lake Windermere in Cumbria. Not only does it offer accommodation, but it also has the Lakes Aquarium and the Haverthwaite Steam Railway.

It is also possible to hop aboard a steamer and visit Bowness on Windermere or Waterhead, or, alternatively, you can catch a ferry across to Fell Foot Park and enjoy a stress free day with the family in this Victorian park. It is also possible to ride on the Lakeside and Haverthwaite railway for a journey that takes you to Newby Bridge and then finishes in Haverthwaite. This rail route used to form part of the Ulverston and Barrow Furness Railway line before the “Beeching cuts”. Lakeside is a charming small quaint village with a lot to offer it’s visitors.
