Newby Bridge

Newby Bridge is a small hamlet in the Lake District, is situated at the southern end of Lake Windermere. For a small village Newby Bridge has a lot offer from accommodation, fell walking, golfing, sailing, fishing and horse riding - to name just a few activities available.

A short stroll will bring you to Lakeside pier from which steamers can take you to Bowness on Windermere, Windermere or Waterhead. From here you can also take a ferry across to Fell Foot Park, which is a National Trust Victorian park that has been restored to it's former glory, and has picnic areas and waterside spots. The Victorian boathouses on this property offer a tearoom, shop, ice-cream kiosk and rowing boat hire. At Lakeside you will find the Lakes Aquarium and the Haverthwaite Steam Railway.

A short car journey from Newby Bridge will take you to the village of Hawkshead, which has many quaint shops for you to stroll around. Newby Bridge is a popular and convenient location from which to explore the Lakes.
