Staveley, which is a picturesque village approximately four miles north west of Kendal in Cumbria, is located at the mouth of the Kentmere Valley. This little village is steeped in history as it was the centre of bobbin making for the wool trade.

The nearest village to the west is Ings, a small hamlet which now shares parish Minister and schools with Staveley, and to the south is the busy tourist town of Windermere the gateway to the Lakes.
In the middle of the village lies Staveley Mill Yard in which you will find a riverside cafe serving tasty homemade food, a cheese shop, a bakery and a popular cycle store which sells a wide range of bikes, accessories and clothing.
Cyclist are frequently seen riding through Staveley on their way to the Kentmere Valley, where there are numerous routes for both novices and experts alike. There are numerous walks/hikes available in and around Staveley, and after a busy day why not relax and enjoy a locally brewed pint beside a log fire in one of Staveley’s cosy pubs.
