Maryport Maritime Museum
The Maryport Maritime Museum, which is in Maryport near the harbour, was set up in 1974. Miss Annie Robinson was instrumental in the setting up of this museum as the collection at the museum was initially based on the donations of items by Miss Robinson and consisted almost entirely of artefacts from or linked to the town of Maryport. The majority of exhibits hold a unique connection with Maryport’s maritime, industrial, social and political history. The museum houses a small tourist information centre and shop.
