Howtown Outdoor Education Centre
Howtown Outdoor Education Centre, which was opened in 1964 by Durham Local Education Authority, is situated on the eastern shores of Ullswater just south of Pooley Bridge near to the village of Howtown in the Lake District in Cumbria. This centre was developed for children to learn while having fun.
Course activities are aimed at social and personal education, which help children to improve their self control, self confidence and self discipline. The activities at this centre include canoeing, rock climbing, scrambling, archery, kayaking, dinghy sailing, mountain walking, orienteering, ropes course and team building tasks.
