Traditional hospitality is offered in one of the finest Four Star Bed & Breakfast addresses in the Lake District village of Ambleside where for some 10 years we have held a Tourist Board Silver Award reflecting the dedicated personal attention we give to our guests.

Our cooked breakfasts are much acclaimed by all including our vegetarian guests and are not for the faint hearted. However, lighter and more healthy options are offered as well as delicious ground coffee and herbal tea.

Freshfields is certainly not minimalistic or contemporary but you will be pleasantly surprised by our competitive tariff for such quality rooms. You may access your room at all times and our off road parking is beside the front door.

We are five minutes walk into the village centre with all its facilities. For the walker, we are very close to the numerous greatly regarded fell walks suitable for all abilities. Here you can enjoy the abundance of flora, fauna and wildlife or alternatively, perhaps enjoy a steamer trip on the Lake.
