Mountains in the Lake District

The Lake District in Cumbria is well known for it’s mountains. This natural attraction draws a large amount of tourists who either climb or walk up these mountains and who are warmly welcomed at the summit with spectacular and breathtaking views. There are four mountains over 3000 feet, these, in order of height, are: Scafell Pike (3210 ft), Scafell (3162 ft), Helvellyn (3118 ft) and Skiddaw (3054 ft).

It is important to remember, when climbing any mountain, to use suitable footwear, take extra clothing for warmth and to have good rainwear. Additionally, if you are climbing or walking on your own, please let someone know which route you are taking and what time you expect to return.
