Blea Tarn

Blea Tarn, which is one of the easiest tarns in the Lake District to visit, lies at the top of the pass between Dungeon Ghyll at the head of Great Langdale and Fell Foot Farm at the head of Little Langdale. There is a convenient car park on the Little Langdale to Great Langdale road.

This tarn, which sits beneath the shadows of the Langdale Pikes, has wild alpine flowers around it’s shores during the spring and summer months. Although the tarn is quite small, the circuit footpath which has been upgraded by the National Trust and which is now suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs, will take approximately twenty minutes to complete.
