Biskey Howe

For an all-encompassing view of both the North and South shores of Lake Windermere, Biskey Howe, Bowness is the best option in the whole of the Lake District.

A mere 15-minute walk from the centre of Bowness, the Biskey Howe viewpoint offers guaranteed tranquillity for hikers to marvel at the far-stretching views of Windermere and neighbouring fells.

Given the briefness of the walk, visitors are needed to make somewhat of a steep ascent, but exertion isn’t required for long and is worth it for the views.

The area surrounding the Biskey Howe viewpoint is populated by rhododendron, with a thick woodland backdrop.

Given that Windermere is the largest natural lake in the whole of England, it’s hard to believe that Biskey Howe can deliver the far-reaching views that it does.
