Aspatria

Aspatria, which is a town in Cumbria, forms part of the Allerdale district and lies between Maryport and Wigton on the A596. This town, which is only approximately twenty minutes from the Lake District, is situated to the south east of the Solway Firth and is served by the Aspatria Railway Station.

Sealy, the well known mattress manufacturer, have had their UK head office in this town since 1974. Aspatria creamery, which is operated by First Milk, produces approximately 80 tonnes of cheese a day. These cheeses include mild, medium and mature cheddar. They also produce Double Gloucester, which is made for ASDA supermarket. The creamery is also the world’s largest manufacturers of Dairylea Dunkers.
