Windermere Lake Cruises

Windermere Lake Cruises is the main boat operator on Lake Windermere, can trace their origins back to Victorian days. Their steamers have saloons, promenade decks, teashops and licensed bars.
Cruises operate daily throughout the year, except for Christmas day. They offer cruises from Bowness on Windermere to Ambleside and Bowness to Lakeside and vice a versa. Combination boat and railway tickets are available as schedules are co-ordinated with the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway. Similarly, combination boat and aquarium tickets are available for visitors wishing to travel to the Lakes Aquarium at Lakeside.
However, they also provide a service from Ambleside to the Lake District Visitor Centre at Brockhole, and a cruise around Windermere’s islands, which departs from Bowness. Windermere Lake Cruises also cater for private charters, weddings and large groups. Evening cruises and jazz/buffet cruises are also available during the summer season. However, if you wish to go out on the lake but don’t want to go on a cruise, they also offer self drive and rowing boats.
