Lakeland Segway Guided Tours

A Lake District activity listing

Why not try the unique, environmentally friendly outdoor activity that is guaranteed to make you smile too? Lakeland Segway offers the opportunity for you to be trained how to ride one of these innovative, electrically powered, self-balancing machines and then taken on a fun, informative and scenic tour of the grounds of Graythwaite Hall located on the west side of Lake Windermere, between Newby Bridge and Hawkshead. These magnificent grounds are part of the 6,000 acre Graythwaite Estate and are the venue for one of only 2 Segway tour operators in England accredited by Segway of America.

There is a choice of two tours: the Graythwaite tour where you are introduced to the Segway, trained and then taken on a tour of the Graythwaite grounds. The total training plus tour time is around one hour. Once you have the experience of the Graythwaite tour behind you, you might want to then progress to the Adventure tour. There is no training element to this tour (so Graythwaite tour experience is a pre-requisite) and you embark on a 90 minute tour of the estate which extends to the shores of Windermere and takes in tracks and trails not usually enjoyed by most Lake District visitors. Why not combine the Graythwaite and Adventure tours for around 2½ hours of Segway fun? Discounts apply for all combined tours booked.

Nearby attractions of the Lakeside & Havethwaite Railway, the Aquarium of the Lakes, Holker Hall as well as Windermere cruises make this part of the south lakes a varied and fascinating area to visit.
