Although this fell is sometimes called Scandale Fell, this only refers to the high ground at the head of Scandale.

This fell is actually only a slight rise on the long southern ridge of Dove Crag with only approximately five metres of prominence. This fell is usually climbed as part of the Fairfield horseshoe walk. Although the view from this fell’s summit, which is marked by a cairn, is limited by higher fells there are spectacular views of Ambleside and the head of Windermere.
