Esthwaite Water

One of the smaller and less well known Lakes in the Lake District, is located between Lake Windermere and Coniston Water. The village of Hawkshead is to the north of Esthwaite Water and Grizedale Forest is to the west of it. Esthwaite Water, which covers and area of approximately two hundred and eighty acres, is well known for fish such as trout and pike, it is also a haven for wildlife and in the summer months lilies cover the surface of the lake. This lake has been designated as an area of special scientific interest.
