A warm welcome awaits visitors to Virginia Cottage guest house in Bowness on Windermere. Virginia cottage is a traditional country character style guest house set in the heart of the beautiful olde worlde village of Bowness on the banks of Lake Windermere (England's largest lake).

At Virginia Cottage we offer accommodation mainly for couples wishing to enjoy a relaxing atmosphere in a perfect location. All the rooms are double or four poster rooms with en suite facilities. Each room has either a multijet shower or a spa bath and are individually styled and come equipped with a TV and DVD player, cd player, fridge / cooler, radio alarm clock, hairdryer and hot drinks tray. Complimentary Sherry and homemade cakes are available in the guest lounge and we also have a cinema room for a romantic night in to watch a film from our extensive DVD library.

Virginia Cottage is ideally located in Bowness on Windermere, we are approximately 150 yards from Lake Windermere and Bowness Bay, where you can hire a rowing boat or take a steamer cruise on the lake and enjoy the stunning backdrop scenery of mountains and forests.

Virginia Cottage is also the ideal base from which to explore some of the Lake Districts finest scenery made famous by such people as William Wordsworth, John Ruskin and Beatrix Potter. Alternatively simply enjoy the many fine restaurants, charming shops, quaint or modern pubs and variety of attractions right on our doorstep in Bowness.
