Tourist Information Centres
Most of the major towns and villages in the Lake District have their own Tourist information centres, some are even located within other businesses, in the Post Office at Ambleside for example. Many offer internet access and are able to find accommodation should you need it, they can book it direct with the owners for you, most TICs have a database of accommodation providers within their area and can call them on your behalf to book you in.
