The Museum of Lakeland Life, which is in Kendal and housed in a converted stableblock opposite The Abbot Hall Art Gallery, won the first ever Museum of the Year Award in 1973. The whole family will enjoy a visit to the Museum, with a walk down an Edwardian Street scene and a visit to an eighteenth century kitchen.
