Low Pike

Low Pike, which as an elevation of 508 metres, is a fell located approximately three kilometres north of Ambleside in the Lake District, Cumbria. The streets of Ambleside are clearly seen from the summit of Low Pike as it is the first obvious fell on the ridge which then continues northwards for approximately four kilometres to Fairfield.

Usually, walkers who climb this fell will continue to the connecting fells of the Fairfield horseshoe, these are High Pike, Dove Crag, Hart Crag and then Fairfield returning to Ambleside over the fell on the eastern side of Rydale Beck. The view from the summit, which has no cairn, is limited by the encircling higher fells, although the Langdale and Coniston fells show well over the lower ground at the head of Windermere. There are also spectacular aerial views of the head of Lake Windermere and Ambleside.
