Loughrigg Tarn

Loughrigg Tarn, which is located north of Lake Windermere, north of the village of Skelwith Bridge, near to the village of Elterwater and at the foot of Loughrigg Fell, is a small natural lake within The Lakes in Cumbria.

The views of the Langdale Pikes from Loughrigg Fell, which is directly opposite Loughrigg Tarn, is absolutely spectacular. This tarn, which normally has beautiful waterlilies on it's surface during the summer months, was particularly well liked by William Wordsworth and his sister Dorothy Wordsworth.
