Heron Pike

Heron Pike, which has an elevation of 612 metres, is a fell approximately two kilometres east of Grasmere in the Lake District, Cumbria. This fell is part of the Fairfield group and is usually climbed as part of the Fairfield horseshoe walk.

This fell lies between the connecting fells of Nab Scar and Great Rigg. This fell can be climbed from either Rydal or Grasmere. The south summit, which has bursts of quartz in the uppermost rock, has the best view which takes in Windermere and the Coniston and Central Central Fells. The higher northern top has the remains of a cross wall, which has been used to make a small cairn.
