Gummers How
Gummers How, which has an elevation of 321 metres above sea level, is a hill in the southern part of The Lakes, on the eastern shore of Lake Windermere near it's southern end. This hill is the highest of the foothills in the area with spectacular views of Lake Windermere and across to the Coniston and central fells. From the summit of this hill the panoramic views of Morecambe Bay are breathtaking.
The walk to the summit, which is short, easy and popular with families, is normally from the road at Astley's Plantation car park - which is only 700 metres from the summit. This Lakeland fell, which has outstanding views, has some short steep slopes, rowan, bracken, heather and rocks to negotiate.
