Grizedale Forest Park
Grizedale Forest is near to the village of Hawkshead in Cumbria and between Lake Windermere and Coniston Water, has approximately 2447 hectares of woodland in which to enjoy various activities.
The facilities and activities at Grizedale include: A visitor centre, seven car parks, cafe, wheelchair access, disabled facilities, five waymarked cycle trails, eight waymarked paths, one all ability trail, bike hire, education service, orienteering courses, playing areas for children, picnic areas, guided walks and activities, sixteen bunk hostel, Christmas tree sales, over ninety wonderful world renowed sculptures plus big events such as car rallies, multi sport challenges and husky races are held here.
At Grizedale Forest there are two easy going trails which are suitable for wheelchair access, they are: The Ridding Wood Trail and the Millwood Trail. There is also a unique high ropes course, called Go Ape, which provides a challenging aerial adventure.
Grizedale, which has many activities to offer, is suitable for the whole family from the youngest to the oldest. The friendly and helpful staff at the Grizedale Visitor Centre will gladly assist you in choosing your activities for the day ahead.
