Cumberland Pencil Museum

The Cumberland Pencil Museum, which is situated in the grounds of the Cumberland Pencil Company in Keswick, was first opened around 25 years ago in what was the former factory laboratories.

At the Cumberland Pencil Museum you will be taken through the history of pencils and pencil making, you can also become creative in the Drawing Zone, relax in Sketchers Coffee Shop, browse the museum shop and see the world's largest coloured pencil. For old car enthusiasts they have a 1950's Morris J class delivery van, which is still roadworthy and from time to time is taken to vintage rallies. This van was rediscovered in the late 1970's under a pile of boxes in one of the old outbuildings and restored to it's former glory. The Cumberland Pencil Museum has a variety of activities for the whole family.
