Caldbeck

On the northern boundry of the National Park, is an attractive working village. The village and former market town of Hesket Newmarket also lies within the civil parish of Caldbeck. It is probably best known as the home and burial place of John Peel, the famous huntsman and subject of the 18th century song D'ye ken John Peel. Another famous resident is Sir Chris Bonington, the mountaineer.
