Brant Fell (Post Knott)
Brant Fell has an excellent position in the Lake District, overlooking Lake Windermere and the lake shore village of Bowness on Windermere with stunning scenic views of the Langdale Pikes to the North, Far Sawrey to the West and Lakeside and Fell Foot Park to the South.

From the top of Brantfell you can see Windermere with the main A590 from Kendal which takes the visitor past Staveley and through Ings village before dropping down into the village of Windermere. On a clear day the Irish Sea can be seen with Grange-over-Sands on its coastline.
Brant Fell is approximatley 630 feet, about 190 meters high, it's one of the smaller mountains and fells in the lakes but is fairly steep to walk up, there are numrous routes on and around Brantfell which are clearly signposted, stiles and farmland are crossed during the walks. At the top of Brant Fell are 2 white gate posts built into the mountains rock, an ideal spot for a picnic or break after your climb up to take in the surround panoramic views of the South Lakes.

From the viewpoint on Brant Fell you can see the full length of Windermere lake you can also see other virepoints and peaks such as biskey howe view point and Claiffe Heights which has many of its own veiw points.
