Blencathra

Blencathra, which is also known as Saddleback, is one of the most northerly mountains in the lakes with six separate fell tops. The highest of these six is Hallsfell Top, which is approximately 868 metres high. Blencathra is located near Threlkeld on the A66 between Penrith and Keswick in the Lake District.

Blencathra, which is a popular mountain, offers various routes of complexity to the summit.

The extensive views from the summit are absolutely breathtaking.

A few of the mountains visible are: Skiddaw, Helvellyn, Coniston Old Man, Bowfell, Scafell Pike, Great Gable, Grasmoor - to name just a few. Thirlmere and Derwent Water are the two major lakes visible from the summit.

However, on a clear day the Isle of Man and the Mourne Mountains are also visible.
